Pastor Nut Sokheng was born in 1985, but his father passed away when he was young. His mother supported 6 children in poverty. They believed Buddhism. He finished 9th grade and stopped study because of poverty.
One day his mother's friend came from Kompot and asked them to believe Jesus Christ. At first they were reluctant, but came to obey. Brother Sokheng came to KBS through mother's friend's recommendation. At first he had many bad dreams at KBS. So roommates and other senior students advised him to read bible and pray. So he followed their advices. So evil spirits went out from him. He could finish his Diploma of Theology in 2009 and was sent to his hometown without foreign supporter.
In 2010, he could build church over there, and married in 2012. He encourages other pastors to strong in the faith of Jesus Christ. He also is raising chicken for living and supporting church. By shedding the sweat, he is making self-supporting church.
It is good model of church in Cambodia.
To depend on totally foreign church is not healthy. God is blessing the one who help oneself. Many pastors say that they are poor, their financial support is not enough for the family. But it is true God bless the diligent workers who try to stand up by themselves.
God gave us wisdom and knowledge, also holy spirit.
Using these treasures, pastors can develop their living into self-supporting.
Put God first and be diligent in all matters, then you can stand by yourself.
