My family

 

God leads our way!

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am An Sitha Lydia.
I have been married for 18 years. My husband (John Saray) and I have been blessed by the Lord
with a son and daughter. Our boy is sixteen and the girl is twelve. 

Currently we live and serve God in Sihanouk Ville.

 

Some of you may know me that I was born in a Cambodian-Chinese family. I am the second daughter in a family of six. I was brought up in an environment where ancestor worship and
Buddhism being practiced as the way of life in my country. The knowledge of Christianity was
almost foreign to me if I had not been sent to school by my parents. On top of that I did not think
much about other faith because I had at two in my way of living as a Chinese-Cambodian born in
Cambodia. I did not know that God, the Creator of “heaven and earth” (Genesis 1:1) had me in
His greater plan for me and my life “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation
of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated
us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his
will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
(Ephesians 1:4-6). Out of millions, the Lord has chosen me “For many are called but few are
chosen” (Matthew 22:14).

 

It was in 1998, when we heard from some of the high school and secondary school students
were talking about foreign Christian missionaries who had come from Singapore to Kampongsom
which is now named Sihanouk Ville. They conducted free English classes to who wanted to learn
and improve their foreign language. My friend and I were invited by a secondary school English
teacher (Teacher Sophat) to join the class. We enjoyed learning the story of Jesus in English. I was
impressed by the miracle of Jesus healing the sick. Likewise, I would love Jesus to heal me as I
had poor health from my childhood. However, I did not know that the miracle that He had on me
was the transformation of my life from sin! My faith in Him started slowly building on him. After
times passed, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

 

One day, Mrs. Grace Hahn invited me to join a Bible class (KBS). So, I did join the class.
As a young Christian, we really enjoyed serving the Lord. On Sunday, we would visit the village
churches and help in the Sunday School. Sometimes, we even helped the medical team with the
translation.

 

By God’s grace, Rev. Moses Hahn, the principal of KBS, recommended me to study at the
Far Eastern Bible College Singapore for three years. After finishing my study, I returned home
and served the Lord in KBS with other FEBC graduates. It was not so easy, but it was a privilege
to share the God’s truth to my fellow Khmer Christians whose desired to learn His Word and to
make the Lord Jesus known to the nation.

 

In 2007, the Lord opened the door for my family to serve Him in Kampot for 3 years. We
started a church and a Bible school there. (The ministry is now under the care of our two colaborers
and friends who were also graduated from the FEBC).

 

In 2011, we moved to Sihanoukville to start a new ministry, helping poor primary school
students whose families could not afford sending them to school or tuition classes. Then we went
on to start a new church which is called “Lively Hope B-P Church”. We thank God for Truth BP
Church Singapore that has been prayerfully and financially supporting our ministry.

 

My family and I are very grateful to the Lord for bringing us to know Him and to serve
Him together. I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone who reads my
testimony to continue trusting and serving the Lord until He comes again. “Be thou faithful unto
death and I will give the crown of life”. (Rev. 2:10b). May the Lord continue to use KBS as “...A
city that is set on an hill cannot be hid,” that its “light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is heaven” (Matthew 5:14,16).
