Era of Pusat Retreat, 2016.

 

In January Dr Chan came and taught students for a month. 

In February mission team of Jinkwang church came and helped in painting Borey church (Issac) and Jomkakroit church (Mean) and repaired roof of Oil Palm church, also improved electricity lines of KBS. I visited Korea and delivered messages at KwangJu GaeRim church and Seoil church, Jeremiah 4:14-21, standard and trumpet sound.

In March Seoil mission team came and went to SraeAmbal. There was 1st ordination service at KBS. Four pastors and one elder were ordained. Rev. Lee TaeGyu, Rev. Hong SoonHo, Rev. Lee HyeongHwan, Rev. Lee SangBeom, Rev. Robert Chew, Rev. Kim GilHyon, Rev. Moses Hahn became ordination committee and laid hands on them with elder Phua ChorKok from Singapore. Living Praise mission team led by elder David Lim taught at KBS for a week.

In May KBS students attended funeral service at Baikkrong village for brother Yam's mother. We evangelized that village since 1997 by boat. Now it can be accessible by car and living standards was improved much.

In June medical team of Glory Presbyterian church came and consulted 550 patients at PP prison and did also at other prison, and at a church. 50 inmates were baptized at Kompot prison. Dr Kenneth and his wife were the key personnels in organizing this mission team. I believe their team came two times a year regularly for 15 years until 2019. This couple bore much budget for all these trips and helped our family from time to time. Their children also followed this mission trips from their young ages. Now I think three of their children are medical doctors. Their children were much impressed from the mission work of the parents at mission fields from their young ages. Rev. Brian also taught students for two weeks in June. Jinkwang team came again and painted KBS and put pipes for drainage.

In July Seoil church visited and discussed with me how to rebuild SraeAmbal church at present place near market. Mrs Hahn and myself went to Singapore to attend SMU graduation of DongSeok, second son.

In August combined mission team of SoMyong and SungWon church came. Sae Eden church also came and visited KohKong and Thmorbang. These youths did mission very actively, sacrificially. Most of them are college students.

 

In September 27-29 there was combined Retreat for the ministers in Pusat province. 190 local ministers, 35 missionaries, 21 members from Korea attended. Speakers were Rev. Yourng Seth, Rev. MengTong, Rev. Taing VekHuong, Rev. Lee KiWoong, Rev. Lee HyeongHwan, Rev. Ung Molivan. We had this meeting for spiritual Awakening of Cambodia and for fellowship of local churches and missionaries.

In October I visited Korea, BokYong Church, GaeRim church, Shinbang church, CheongChon church, delivered from  book ofJeremiah 1:11-14, boiling pot from the north.

In October also was Chinese ministers Retreat at kbs for 4 days, organized by Rev B.G Ahn.

 

In Nov 13-16, there was 9th Revival Camp at kbs. Almost 800 people gathered, 9 speakers delivered messages at 10 sessions.

On Dec 23rd was KCS Christmas.

 

KBS Sunday Worship KBS is established on 12th January, 1998, with seven students. Dr Chan Sing Chai delivered message from Psalm 1. She is a visiting lecturer since 1998. Now became 81 years old

Prison Fellowship and Canadian Team had seminar with local leaders, and with 6 KBS students for two days.

Sister Kosal of KBS married a Korean Christian ten years ago and have two sons, John and Joseph who are attending church service and choir actively. She got heart operarion last year, and now became healthy.

Easter Sunday Combined Service. Ephesians 4:8, Wherefore he saith, When He ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 1 Corinthians 15:17, And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Ordination Day, 4 pastors and 1 elder were ordained. Cambodian pastors and leaders! Love your God, Love your Church, and Love your people in the Lord.

Happy to see pastor Paul Sokha and sister Namsoon, and their children, Haegyo and Daniel. I saw their children in Battambang when Daniel was a baby. Now growing, growing in Christ.

Joy & Value of Working Together Under the CEAI umblella, which was created by several dedicated missionaries 9 years ago,, Grace Hahn coodinated prison ministry.Glory Presbyterian church in Singapore brought medical mission team ( June 2-6) and consulted around 550 patients at PP prison, Smackdeng church, and Kompot prison. Dr Kenneth of Glory Church organized the team continually for nine years, twice a year, showed abundant love to the neglected. Rev Brian Harper from Australia, who came for the teaching to KBS students, baptized 25 inmates today. 12 KBS students helped this team in many way. With this kind of co-working, I believe, we have baptized many hundreds of believers in Kompot prison, and healed many thousands of the sick in many places of Cambodia.

MAC(Mission Alliance of Cambodia) Convention has decided to hold 9th SAC (Spiritual Awakening of Cambodia) in Pusat from 27th to 29th September, 2016 with their co-workers (pastors, Sunday School Teachers, Cell- Group leaders, etc). Around 50 missionaries and 250 local leaders will attend. Camp Fee will be $ 20 per person. Speakers will be from local pastors, missionaries, and from abroad. Pray with us, and join, and bring spiritual revival in Cambodia. Topic will be Calling from God, Union of Faithful Church, Watching out Heresy, Bring Revival

9th SAC (Spiritual Awakening of Cambodia) at Pusat, 27th -29th, September, 2016.

It is my pleasure to write up the 9th Revival Camp at KBS in November 13-16, 2016. After organizing Cambodian leaders' Camp at Pusat KM Hotel in September 27-29, 2016 which gathered 190 Cambodian leaders and teachers (40 from KBS graduates) and 35 Korean missionaries and 21 mission members from Korea, I wanted to replace annual KBS Revival Camp with this Pusat Meeting. So I announced that there would be no Revival camp at KBS in 2016. But in the last day of the Pusat Meeting, some pastors approached to us and said that they should have Revival Camp at KBS as before because their congregation are waiting the Camp eagerly. After hearing their protest, I prayed and reminded to myself that if it is God's willing, I should obey their voices even there is no fund for it. After coming back to Kompongsom I sent emails which are requesting fund to several churches. and received some favorable response from some churches. So I announced that we will have 9th Revival Camp will be held at KBS for three days in November. I expected the campers up to 600 people to attend at maximum. So I went to Korea and visited some churches. After coming back to Cambodia, i prepared the Camp. Local churches hoped to match football during the Camp, so I extended one more day, so it became four-day's Camp. Few days before the Camp, many churches added numbers of campers, and when they arrived all, it turned up 800, so we increased the amount of food quickly.On second day, 10 local churches (some churches were combined into one team) had tournament. KBS was expected to go final, but they could not go even semi-final. I estimated KCS would be least in the match because they were very young age of Secondary and High school boys. But it was surprise that KCS got winner in the final. Unexpectedly, some visitors joined the Camp from Korea, some pastors, deacon, pastor's wife and son who stayed Cambodia for three years with us. It was happy moment. They also helped to prepare one Korean meal for the Campers for one dinner. It was pork mixed with various ingredients, Doe Jee Joo Mul Reok. We bought 130 kg of pork meat, some cut the meat, some pounded garlic, add ingredients. Grace Hahn and Korean team dedicated their strength for that special food. And 800 people enjoyed it on 15th . Seven guest preachers, one KBS graduate, and teacher Reli delivered messages at 10 sessions. They preached regarding prayer, heaven and hell, dedication and sacrifice, and what is Christian life. We had nine intercessory prayer groups, each group with 7 members for four hours. So it continued for 36 hours day and night. They prayed for the Camp, for the country, and for their family members and so on. We had baptism and Lord's Supper. 54 members were baptized. The weather was good, a little bit rain, and good temperature, the sleeping place was spacious because we had roof on second floor of Block C, the Camp site. It was full moon during the Camp. We had camp fire two times, singing and praying. Even the fund was short, all went good and enjoyed. Some churches came one day earlier, some went back one day later. So they visited beaches and Bokor mountain nearby Kompongsom. Thanks again for your prayer and support.

Unusual weather in December and Christmas preparation of KCS. It is first time to see such a much rain in December since 1997.

I visited Thmorbang with Korean missionaries, and met brother Tokna, his wife, Sokkia, and two children. After that we visited Somphan nearby. Brother Somphan start ministry at his village of Zhomkajeik from August 2016 and is taking care of some students..

우리 주님의 이름으로 문안드립니다.

항상 이곳을 향한 사랑과 기도에 감사드립니다.

 

지난 3월에는 KBS에서 처음으로 목사 장로 안수식이 있었습니다. 5명이 안수를 받았습니다.

 

4월은 KBS 방학이었고 

 

5월에는 빠이끄롱 마을의 얌씨 모친이 돌아가셔서 학생들과 같이 가서 마을 사람들과 장례 예배를 드렸습니다. 97년부터 그 곳에 가서 전도하고 얌씨 가족이 중심이 되어 신앙 생활을 신앙생활을 해왔는데 그동안 얌씨식구 친척 중에서 KBS에와 공부했습니다. 이제는 그 마을에도 길이 나서 차로 진입할 수 있고 사람들의 생활도 많이 향상 되었습니다.

 

6월에는 싱가폴 Glory 교회에서 의료 선교를 와서 여러 곳의 교도소에서 의료 사역을 하였고 KBS 학생들이 가서 통역과 협력으로 사역을 돕고 캄폿 교도소에서는 50명 가까이 세례를 주었습니다.  또 호주에서 브라이언 목사님이 KBS에 신학강의를 하러 2주간 오셨으며, 진광 전원교회에서 선교팀이 와서 KBS에서 교실을 꾸미고 공사와 Panting을 하였습니다.

 

7월에는 서일 교회에서 스라이엄벌 교회를 방문했고 어떻게 교회를 재건축할 것인지 논의하였고, 싱가폴에 있는 둘째 동석이 졸업식이 있어서 참석하고 근무하는 회사도 둘러보았습니다. 올해는 11월에 하는 영성부흥회 대신에 9월 27~29일까지 푸삿지방에서 교회지도자 수련회로 모여 부흥회를 하기로하고 50여명의 선교사와 200명의 현지 교회지도자 20여명의 한국 선교팀이 모여 발전적인 협력 선교를 통한 영적 각성의 운동의 씨앗이 되기를 기도합니다.

 

8월초에는 소명교회와 성원교회 연합으로 와서 지방교회와  KBS와 KCS에서 사역을 하였고

8월말에는 새에덴 교회 선교팀이 방문할 예정입니다.

 

다시금 베풀어 주신사랑에 감사드립니다.

우리 주님의 이름으로 문안드립니다.

지난 9월에는 싱가폴 Living Praise 교회에서 강사 몇 분이 오셔서 신학생들을 2주간 가르치셨고,

9월 24일부터 이 나라 프춤번 연휴를 맞이하여 우리 KBS와 KCS도 2주 동안 방학을 하였습니다.

9월 22~ 29일까지 포삿지방에서 연합 수련회가 열렸는데, 20여명의 캄보디아 교회, 학교, 센터에서 사역하는 교사, 교역자들과 30여명의 한국 선교사 그리고 한국에서 온 5개 교회 연합 선교팀, 이렇게 270명이 말씀을 들고 교제하는 시간을 가졌습니다. MAC(캄보디아 선교 연맹)에서 주관하고 저는 이번 대회 대회장으로 섬겼고 전국에서 교회, 학교, 센터에서 55개 단체가 참석하였으며, 저희 KBS출신 교역자, 사모 등 40명이 참석하였습니다. 강사로는 땅백홍목사님, 맹똥목사님, 몰리반목사님, 용석목사님과 한국에서 오신 이기웅 목사님, 이형환 목사님이 말씀을 전하셨고 선교사들을 위한 집회시간에는 노상헌, 정우현, 이창세, 이형환, 이기웅 다섯분의 목사님이 말씀을 전하셨고, 한식도 먹고, 수영, 풋살도 하며 좋은 시간을 가졌습니다.

 

10월 10일 다시 개학을 하였고, 이제 국제학교 초등학교 1학년을 시작하였고, 10월 말에는 안병근 선교사님의 주최로 중국인 사역자 40명이 저희 KBS에 와서 Camp를 할 예정이며, 또는 일반성도를 위한 제9회 부흥회가 11월 14~16일 까지 KBS에서 개최됩니다. 이번에도 많은 교회에서 많은 성도님이 참석할 예정이고 이를 위한 준비를 시작해야 합니다. 이제선교도 그러하지만 연합된 힘이 필요한 때입니다, 모든 충성되고 진리안에 있는 교회는 연합되어 사역을 감당하고 함께 살아가는,그리고 함께예배하는 시점이 다가오고 있습니다. 이번 포삿 연합 수련회에서도 현지교회, 선교사를 후원교회 이렇게 많은 교회가 모여서 3일간이었지만 같이 지내면서 같은 믿음으로 생활하면서 많은 감동과 은혜와 앞으로 나아가야 할 길을 알게 되었습니다.

 

주님의 은혜가 늘 함께 하시길,

우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 문안드립니다.

캄보디아 척박한 땅에 복된 소식이 이제  많이 전파되고 각 교회마다 크리스마스행사를 하느라 분주한 계절이 돌아왔습니다

 

프놈펜, 깜뽕챰, 캄폿 교도소에서도 주님이 이땅에 오심을 기뻐하여 크리스마스는 예배를 드립니다.

예수의 이름을 들어 본적이 없다고 대부분의 사람들이 그때는 그렇케 이야기했는데 이제 젊은이와 아이들 사이에서는 예수의 이름을 드러내는 이 절기는 기다려지는 시간이 되었습니다.

 

KCS(Kompongsom Christian School)에서는 23일 학생들과 선생님들이 모여, 예배드리고, 음식을 먹고 게임도 했습니다. KBS(Kompongsom Bible School)에서는 오늘 25일, 예배를 드리고 일주일간 방학에 들어갑니다.

 

지난 11월에는 저희 신학교에서 제9회 영적 각성 부흥회가 열렸고, 30여 교회에서 800명 넘게 참석했습니다.

또 11월말 싱가폴 교회에서 의료선교로 교도소에서 진료를 하였고, 신학생들이 통역 하였으며 꼬꽁 한마음 교회의 이탄 가족이 프놈펜으로 거주지를 옮기게 되어 대신 심반나학생이 사역을 시작하게 되었습니다. 이타 사역자는 10년간 한마음 교회를 섬겼습니다. 그리고 빠이른에서 온 '론' 학생도 졸업이 다 되어가고, 또 빠일론의 크리스챤 초등학교의 교장으로 있는 KBS출신 '올'로부터 연락이와서 선생님이 필요하다고 하여 '론' 학생을 그곳으로 보내려고 준비하고 있으며, 에스더 학생은 11월말 졸업을 하여 저희 초등학교 1학년을 담임하고 있습니다.

 

격변하는 세상속에서 흔들리지 않고 세상을 주도해 나가며 하나님의 왕국을 이루어 나가는 서로서로가 되기를 기도합니다.
